ICTER (International Centre for Translational Eye Research) is seeking a Director of Education and Translation to play a key role in integrating cutting-edge vision research with educational initiatives, while driving the translation of scientific discoveries into real-world solutions. This position is crucial for fostering collaboration between researchers, educators, and industry partners, ensuring a lasting impact on the future of eye research, healthcare advancements, and broader societal benefits. A high level of English proficiency is required, and knowledge of Polish is an advantage but not essential.
Requirements for Education and Translation Director of ICTER:
- Career rank: Candidates should hold the rank of PhD. A background in education; intellectual property (IP) management; or research, development, and innovation (RDI) centres is highly desirable.
- Experience in Translation and IP Management: Demonstrated experience in supervising the implementation of scientific translation, with a focus on bridging the gap between research and practical applications.
- Experience in RDI and Educational Leadership: Proven experience in leading educational programs within an RDI environment, specifically aimed at training and developing scientists and medical professionals. The candidate should have a track record of supporting young researchers through mentoring, skill development, and career advancement initiatives.
- Collaboration and Partnership Development: The role requires experience in building and maintaining collaborations with external stakeholders, such as educational institutions, hospitals, industry partners, medical/patients associations.
- Dissemination: Experience in promoting and managing the dissemination of RDI activities to both academic and public audiences. This includes overseeing outreach activities and disseminating complex concepts in accessible ways.

The International Centre for Translational Eye Research (ICTER) is a multi-investigator centre for eye research as related to imaging and biochemical techniques to support advances in understanding the etiology and treatment of human blinding diseases. The new research agenda (carried under International Research Agenda’ project no. FENG.02.01-IP.05-T005/23) aims to develop new tools for safer and more effective surgical interventions, new therapies for eye diseases, and diagnostic methods to improve prognosis and restore vision. The main technology to be developed under this program will be a novel robotic system for delivering drugs to the eye and performing a tissue biopsy, in which a robotic system will assist the micromanipulation of the injection device with 3-D localized imaging.
