Piotr Węgrzyn, PhD student at the University of Warsaw working at ICTER, is one of the finalists of the Student Nobel Prize 2020 competition

Peter received the award in the Physics and Astronomy category which, according to the organizers, “is ideal for researchers of everything fundamental, passionate about celestial bodies and calculations of the transformation of matter. It includes physics-related disciplines such as geophysics, biophysics or optometry, and astronomy.”

The Student Nobel Prize is a cyclical competition organized by the Independent Students’ Association, the aim of which is to honor students with outstanding achievements in various fields – scientific, artistic and social. It is the only nationwide scholarship competition fully created by a student organization. In keeping with today’s widespread trends of innovation and related investment in human capital, it aims to enable outstanding young people to use their achievements to make a name for themselves in the world of science and business.
