Nikodem Czechowski PhD. Eng. completed his master’s degree in Technical Physics at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 2010. He also defended his PhD in Physics there in 2015. His doctoral research focused on optical spectroscopy of hybrid nanostructures composed of photosynthetic protein complexes and metallic nanoparticles. He subsequently began a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw under his NCN FUGA grant “Exciton spectroscopy in transition metal dichalcogenides”.

After completing his PostDoc in 2017, he transitioned to industry, where he worked for several companies on projects including software development in LabVIEW and Python, electronic device design, embedded systems programming, holographic displays, and medical devices. However, he remained closely connected to the innovation ecosystem, developing software for research confocal microscopes used at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS.

Currently, he is works with a research and development company focused on machine learning algorithms for the defence sector, where he serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He is also an CapTech non-governmental Expert in the capability and technology development groups CapTech Space, Missiles & Munitions, and Optronics under the European Defence Agency (EDA).

In 2025, he joined ICTER as a Specialist working on the Proof of Concept project ” Retinal display based on two-photon vision for augmented reality” led by Katarzyna Komar PhD, Eng.

In his free time, he is passionate about living history of antiquity, the late Middle Ages, and the early modern period. He is also interested in photography and role-playing games.
