Machine learning and multi-omics

In 2023 Agnieszka Michalak completed her Bachelor of Engineering degree in biotechnology, specializing in technical biochemistry and molecular biotechnology at the Lodz University of Technology. During the studies, she was involved in two research projects. The first project concerned the isolation, identification, and biochemical characterization of bacterial endophytes in stinging nettle. The second project concerned the bioinformatic characterization of TetR protein structures.

After completing her Bachelor’s she was involved in a project concerning analysis of complex shotgun metagenomes of cyanobacteria in collaboration with the Medical University of Gdańsk. At the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Science in collaboration with the University of Malta, she was involved in research developing antibodies against SARS-Cov-2 and Zika viruses where she was analyzing phage-display NGS data.

Her next milestone was starting Master’s studies in bioinformatics and systems biology at the University of Warsaw where she is focused on machine learning and multi-omics. Her MSch thesis involves the analysis of multi-omics data from Arabidopsis thaliana. In CGG group she is involved in analysis NGS data in Weave-Unisono Project.

Privately she is passionate about history and linguistics.
