Obtained her Masters in Biomedical Sciences-Human Genetics at the St’ George’s University of London. Before staring her PhD, she was actively involved in running research projects and clinical trials while working at Brighton & Sussex Medical Research Centre. She completed two PhD theses, one with receiving an award (summa cum laude) from both: Jagiellonian and Wageningen University. She continued her research as a postdoctoral fellow at Delft University and Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology Warsaw University. She also run the Sequencing Lab at the Institute of Genetics PAS, where she was both: a PI and the leader of the national grant. She led four scientific grants as a PI and the national and other European country level, co-promoted three Masters and one PhD and published in recognised scientific journals. She is the reviewer of project proposals for Science and Innovation Consultancy UK.

She holds over twelve years of a strong background gained from leading people and projects in the international environment.  She is experienced in nanotechnology, protein preparation &analysis, genetics of adaptation and molecular and cell biology techniques. Her scientific interests focus mostly on unravelling processes related to cellular interactions and genetics facilitating such events.

Intracellular Signaling and Regulation of Gene Expression in Cancer Cells

Dr. Magdalena Banach-Orłowska graduated from Biotechnology at the University of Warsaw. She obtained a PhD degree in Biochemistry at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics (awarded with the Prime Minister award for a PhD thesis). She continued her scientific work as a postdoctoral fellow and senior researcher at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, and at the Medical University of Warsaw.

She led two scientific grants as a PI, co-promoted one PhD and published thirteen papers including twelve original (Scopus preview – Banach-Orłowska, Magdalena – Author details – Scopus). Her scientific interests focus mostly on intracellular signaling and regulation of gene expression in cancer cells.

Filomena Kowalska, MEc, group coordinator, is an experienced and committed project manager with over 14 years of professional experience in the field of administration and finances and also internal regulations and control, acquired in international companies with direct cooperation with project teams. She graduated from Warsaw School of Economics.

Anna Posłuszny, PhD

Her scientific interests focus on the functioning of the neuronal system. She obtained a MSc degree in Biology at the University of Gdańsk. After completing her Ph.D. studies in neurophysiology at the Department of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Łódź, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Plasticity and Laboratory of Neurobiology of Vision at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw.

Anna Salamończyk, MSc

Master’s degree in mathematics with over twenty years of professional experience in the operation of public universities at all levels of an organisation, including the management of units at all levels. In the course of her professional development, she broadened her knowledge at postgraduate studies (public administration, organisation and management for managers, project management) and courses (Prince2 Foundation, P3O Foundation certificate, among others).

Her professional interests are related to project management in science and higher education. She has participated in research and teaching projects in various positions.

Katarzyna Wybrańska, PhD

PhD degree obtained in 2010 from Chemistry Department at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Nanotechnology of Polymers and Biomaterials Research Group led by Prof. Maria Nowakowska).

Post-doc at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPC PAS) in Warsaw from 2011-2017; Post-doc at the University of Warsaw (Department of Chemistry, Biological and Chemical Research Center), 2020.

Scientist, innovator and entrepreneur holding PhD in physical chemistry, specialising in spectroscopy and nanotechnology, experienced in developing international projects and commercialization of innovative solutions. Owner of consulting company running commissioned research on carbon footprint, founder of the nanotechnology start-up based on her own invention (NanoAddVenture). Author of publications in recognised scientific journals and patents granted by regional and European Patent Office. Programme officer at the Foundation for Polish Science (2017 – 2020).
