Her scientific interests focus on the functioning of the neuronal system. She obtained a MSc degree in Biology at the University of Gdańsk. After completing her Ph.D. studies in neurophysiology at the Department of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Łódź, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Plasticity and Laboratory of Neurobiology of Vision at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw.

Description

Master’s degree in mathematics with over twenty years of professional experience in the operation of public universities at all levels of an organisation, including the management of units at all levels. In the course of her professional development, she broadened her knowledge at postgraduate studies (public administration, organisation and management for managers, project management) and courses (Prince2 Foundation, P3O Foundation certificate, among others).

Her professional interests are related to project management in science and higher education. She has participated in research and teaching projects in various positions.

Lidia Wolińska-Nizioł, PhD

University Degree:

PhD degree in Environmental Protection (2014), in the area of Molecular Toxicology, at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

Specialist with a broad experience in molecular techniques and zebrafish research. Lidia joined the team in August 2024, starting her new career direction as a Group Coordinator & Lab Manager overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Computational Genomics Group led by Dr. Marcin Tabaka.

Lidia started her scientific work at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) initially as a Research Assistant in FishMed Project. She continued her career at the IIMCB coordinated the Zebrafish Core Facility and leading her own project. After finishing the grant at IIMCB, Lidia worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Warsaw.

She is co-author of 12 scientific papers. During her scientific career she led two scientific projects. She was awarded by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for outstanding young scientists.

Dominika Życka-Malesa, MSc Eng.

Early diagnosis of ischemic stroke, modern diagnosis of prostate cancer based on analysis of imaging and clinical data

Dominika is responsible for the operational and administrative monitoring and support of the Image-guided Devices for Ophthalmic Care (IDoc) Group, which she joined in December 2024. Her main research interests are the use of innovative technologies in medicine, especially in medical imaging and computer-aided diagnostic systems.

As part of her scientific development, she participated in the NCN project “Computational Understanding of Medical Images by Integrating Signal Acquisition, Information Representation and Knowledge Models”, providing support in the field of brain image processing, in particular image registration and related algorithms and methods. She is currently working on her PhD thesis entitled “Computational Characterization of Brain Asymmetry to Assist in Diagnosing Selected Neurological Diseases” at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Sciences, Warsaw University of Technology. In her spare time, Dominika enjoys skiing, mushroom hunting and fishing.
