International Research Grants Expert (MCBO_2_6_2025)

Join our dynamic and growing team as an International Research Grants Expert and support the development of groundbreaking projects carried out at the Center of Excellence in Ophthalmology: International Centre for Translational Eye Research (ICTER)

The tasks of the employee in this position will include:

  • Writing competitive research proposals in collaboration with scientists,
  • Identifying opportunities for international research funding,
  • Coordinating the application development process, including schedules, partner contacts, budget planning, and compliance with competition requirements,
  • Cooperating with the European Commission, the National Contact Point, and funding agencies,
  • Maintaining internal documentation and participating in the preparation of reports, statistics, and evaluations related to grants.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participating in the preparation of applications for research funding,
  • Coordinating the entire application development process, including internal schedules, contacts with partners, budget planning, etc., from the initial idea to the final submission of the application.
  • Monitoring and disseminating information on international funding opportunities, with particular emphasis on Horizon Europe and other EU programs aligned with ICTER’s research priorities.
  • Advising researchers on funding strategies, eligibility criteria, and key application requirements.
  • Acting as a liaison between ICTER, the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, funding institutions, and international research partners.
  • Planning and conducting information campaigns and activities related to upcoming calls for proposals.
  • Maintaining internal documentation and participating in the preparation of reports, statistics, and evaluations related to submitted proposals.

Our requirements:

  • Proven experience in writing proposals that have received funding under the Horizon Europe/Horizon 2020 program — a prerequisite.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing research grants in an international environment.
  • Higher education (e.g., natural sciences, biomedical sciences, international relations),
  • Good knowledge of EU funding mechanisms, policies, and application structures. Experience in budget preparation, financial regulations, and reporting requirements,
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, experience in using tools for submitting applications to funding agencies and project management software,
  • Punctuality, communication skills, ability to work under time pressure,
  • Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written),
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Independence and ability to work in multifunctional and international teams.
