ICTER at the Ursynów Science Festival 2026 as part of Funduszowy Maj

On May 22, 2026, we invite you to the Ursynów Science Festival. The event will take place at 9 I. Gandhi Street in Warsaw, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free.

ICTER will participate in the festival as part of the nationwide “Funduszowy Maj” initiative. This campaign highlights how European Funds support the development of science, education, technology, and local communities. Events like this give residents a chance to see the real impact of EU-funded projects and better understand their role in everyday life.

Science for children, young people, and adults

The Ursynów Science Festival presents science in an accessible and engaging way. The program includes laboratory activities, workshops, lectures, educational games, and demonstrations. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the achievements of student research groups.

The event is open to people of all ages. We especially encourage families with children to join us for an active day of learning through play, observation, and simple experiments.

The Eye Under the Microscope – Secrets of Vision

At the ICTER booth, we will present an interactive attraction titled “The Eye Under the Microscope – Secrets of Vision.” We will show how the human eye works and what structures it is made of.

Visitors will learn how the eye is examined and how modern technologies allow us to see what is invisible to the naked eye. Among other things, we will introduce OCT (optical coherence tomography), an imaging technique that enables highly detailed cross-sectional views of eye tissues.

There will also be opportunities to take part in spatial vision and color vision tests. These activities will help participants better understand how the eyes and brain work together to create our perception of the world.

Why visit us?

Our booth will offer a chance to experience science up close. We want to show that research on vision is relevant to everyone. Our eyes allow us to read, learn, work, recognize faces, and move safely through the world.

During the festival, we will explain all of this in a simple, accessible way – without complex lectures or technical jargon. Instead, we will invite visitors to explore, ask questions, and discover how vision works.
